The Delta State Government through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, in its continued quest to reposition and develop school sports in Delta State, is set to host the finals of the “Delta State School Sports Festival” for public private primary and secondary Schools in the state.
Oasis Magazine (OM) gathered that the closing ceremony of the sporting fiesta which promises to be entertaining will take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, on Wednesday, 8th May, 2019, as the finals of the ‘Headmaster’s Cup’ will also be played on the said day.
Kick off time on Wednesday is 10 a.m., as Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State as Guest of Honour is expected to grace the event.
Over 1000 young student athletes drawn from the 25 local government areas across the state are expected to converge at the state capital, Asaba, to compete.
The organisers believe that during the sport fiesta, new sporting talents that will make Delta State proud in the future will be discovered.
