Oasis Magazine Publisher Mourns, As Dad Passes On
By John Tega
The Publisher of Oasis Magazine (OM), Daniel Dafe Umukoro, has described the death of his father, Rev. Albert Umukoro, as a rude shock, saying his dad lived a life of holiness till his death.
Reacting to the news of his father’s death, he said that he was yet to come to terms with the news of his dad’s demise, adding that it is a period of mourning for him and at the same time one of sober reflection.
His words: “I have been hearing of people losing their parents and close relations; this experience gave me a kind of feeling that cannot be put in words.
“The man lived a great life, and even though he was not wealthy, he had a heart for God and loved his creator.”
“He will be greatly missed by everyone that had dealings with him. However, I am assured that he is now in a better place and has ceased from all his labour and toiling. He is in heaven with Jesus where there is no sorrow, tears nor weeping.”
According to him, his dad passed on in the late hours of June 8, 2019, in Benin City after a brief illness.
Late Umukoro was survived by a wife, Dness. Queen Umukoro, three sons and a daughter.
