Warri: NUJ Makes Case For Unity Amongst Journalists In The State

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, have sued for unity and oneness amongst journalists in the state and beyond, to give room for a stronger and virile union.
The Union made this known after a Congress of the union yesterday at its secretariat, 12, Gbiaye Street, Off 3rd Marine gate, Warri, Delta State.
In a communiqué released at the end of the congress and signed by the Chairman, Comrade Okies Veeky and its Secretary, Comrade Joe Ogbodu, the Union stressed the need for journalists to speak with one voice to give room for a stronger union in the state and the nation at large.
The Union passed a vote of confidence on the Comrade Michael Ikeogwu-led executive of NUJ Delta State Council due to his purposeful and transparent leadership.
The Union said they aligned themselves with the resolution of SEC of NUJ Delta State towards the amicable resolution of election crisis in the state information chapel and others within the state.
The communiqué read in part: “Congress passed a vote of implicit confidence on the transparent and purposeful leadership of Comrade Michael Ikeogwu-led executive of NUJ Delta State Council.”
The Congress used the medium to congratulate the new Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ehiedu Charles Aniagwu and the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika and urged both to use their positions to improve on the welfare of journalists in the state.
The Congress also congratulated the new Board of DESOPADEC and Comrade Ovuozuorie Macaulay, DG of Warri/Uvwie Development Agency on their well deserved appointments just as they urged to use their good office to move the state forward.
