DELSU: Ohwavborua’s Death Is A Minus To SSANU, Heartbreaking, Says Chairman
By Daniel Dafe
The Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Delta State University, Abraka Chapter, Comrade Izu Monday, has said that “the demise of a former Chairman of the union, Comrade Goodluck Ohwavborua, is a minus to the union,” saying that “the sad news is heartbreaking and unexpected.”
Speaking to Oasis Magazine (OM) during a phone conversation, Comr. Izu added: “We are very bitter and the union has been thrown into a state of mourning.”
He continued: “One of our giants, a great leader and a counselor, and one that played the role of counselor to us in SSANU until his death has passed on. We have lost a rare gem and a motivator.”
According to him, not too long ago, the union lost one of her former Acting Chairmen, Comrade O.J. Okonye, who he said will be buried on the 26th of October, 2019.
While describing Ohwavborua as a fallen hero, he called on union members to continue to pray for the family of the deceased and as well extend their support to them.
Ohwavborua died at the early hours of today.
