One Month After, DTSG Refuses To Release School Results Because Of N400 Scratch Card

Parents of pupils and students in Delta State public primary and secondary schools are yet to come to terms with the refusal of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary School Education to release the results of their wards a month after the examinations.
Our investigation shows that the results of the first term prepared by the various schools were sent to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Asaba, for onward processing to enable the pupils and students view them online.
We also gathered from some of the teachers of schools visited that they are handicap on the issue because they do not have powers to issue the results manually.
We were told that many pupils and students have made the Four Hundred Naira payment for the scratch cards, but the Ministry wants to ensure that all the schools have remitted the money before they release the results.
As it stands, it seems the government officials are more interested in the Four Hundred Naira for the scratch card.
A parent under conditions of anonymity said: “It is sad that our counterparts having children and wards in private schools collected their results before proceeding on Christmas holiday.
“Why is our case different,” she lamented.
Oasis Magazine (OM) contacted a staff at the Ministry.
According to this source who does not want his name in print, the Ministry is presently working on releasing the results.
He added: “The fee for the scratch card is Two Hundred and Fifty Naira, not Four Hundred Naira.
