DELSU Closes Partially To Observe DTSG’S ‘Stay At Home’ Directive

In line with the directive of the Delta State Government for schools to shut down in the state from tomorrow, Thursday, 26th March, 2020, as a measure to control the spread of the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic, the management of Delta State University, Abraka, led by Professor Andy Egwunyenga, has directed staff (non-teaching staff on CONUSS 1-11, as well as academic staff from Lecturer 1 and below) to stay at home for a period of 30 days from tomorrow.
This decision of the management was contained in the official bulletin of the institution dated March 25, 2020.
Meanwhile, those who do not fall within the said categories and those essential services such as workers in the Departments of Health Services, Fire Services, Works and Services staff providing electricity, water, drivers attached to Principal Officers and security operatives are to report to duty as usual.
Speaking further, the university authority said that skeletal services will be rendered during the period.
Furthermore, the management urged all faith-based organizations in the university to adhere strictly to the directive on maintaining social distance in all gatherings.
