Breaking: Lockdown In FCT, Lagos, Ogun Continues Till May 2— Buhari
By Daniel Dafe
President Muhammadu Buhari has set that the lockdown in the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos and Ogun States will continue till May 2, 2020.
In his third nationwide broadcast on Monday in the fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic, the President said that this was based on the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force on COVID 19.
According to him, this decision considered socio-economic realities and issues raised by the Nigeria Governors Forum, adding that there will be a phased and gradual easing of lockdown measures in FCT, Lagos and Ogun States effective from Saturday, 2nd May, 2020 at 9am.
He said: “This will be followed strictly with aggressive reinforcement of testing and contact tracing measures while allowing the restoration of some economic and business activities in certain sectors.”
