COVID-19 Lockdown: Cleric In Abraka Donates Food Items, Others To Orphans, Widows At GBI Centre

Widows and orphans in Ebedei, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, recently benefited from the generosity of a cleric in Abraka, Evangelist Hope Orovwigho, President of Christian Revival Fellowship, Abraka, when the preacher paid a visit to Goddy Becca Ifelunna (GBI) Orphanage and Children Centre, Ebedei, to share palliatives to them in order to cushion the effect of the lockdown in the state ordered as a measure to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

Accompanied by some church members, Evang. Orovwigho disclosed that he has been engaged in acts of helping the needy in the said home and other places for several years.

He continued: “This is one of the visions of the ministry which is to help the less privileged. I hope to in the near future build an orphanage home and do more for the needy.”

According to him, he is guided by the saying that “givers never lack”.

Items presented include rice, clothes, books and other relief materials.

He urged those in the centre to be prayerful, as he prayed for divine provision to meet their needs continually.

Furthermore, he called on other well-to-dos in the state to involve in extending their benevolence to people abandoned in orphanage homes and those in need.

Meanwhile, Rev. (Chaplain) Godwin Amalari who oversees the centre, while commending the donor, thanked the Delta State Governor, his wife and others that have continuously taken it upon themselves to meet the basic needs of those in the centre from time to time.

He added: “This home started in a mud house in 1993. But, we are no longer in a mud house. Many persons both male and female have been raised from this home. Some have gotten married and working, while others are in the higher institution.”

He disclosed that all of the orphans in the centre are in school.

On the said visit from the cleric, he said: “I am not surprised, but he has shown that the Word of God is in him.”

While commending the gesture, he prayed for the ministry of the cleric to continue to grow and always have his needs met.

“Many have but they do not remember a place like this,” he opined, as he prayed for God’s blessings on all those that have been supporting them.
