COVID-19 Palliatives: Our Cash Giveaways Have Exceeded N1M, Says Ossai
-Says 780 Persons Have So Far Benefited

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties Media, Comrade Ossai Ovie Success, has disclosed that 780 persons have so far benefitted from the cash giveaways by him with the support of other Deltans, saying that over 1 Million Naira has been spent.
Success, who spoke to Oasis Magazine (OM) during an online chat, added: “What prompted the gesture is because I am aware that many persons are hungry.”
He continued: “I understand that the period we are in is a critical period and there is a need to assist people to get food stuffs. Due to the lockdown, a lot of persons are financially down. So, there is the need to reach out.”
According to him, the beneficiaries are in the category of the poor and vulnerable, adding the beneficiaries are not only Deltans, but from different parts of the country.
“It is targeted at the poor and vulnerable from all parts of the state and there are testimonies already,” he averred.
“Some benefited N2, 000, others N5, 000 and then the third group got N10, 000 each,” he said.
To those that benefited, he urged them to share with others irrespective of the amount.
Speaking further, Ovie said: “Together we can build a stronger Delta and a brighter Nigeria. I am planning to do more with my team and we will not stop after the Coronavirus pandemic is over because helping people should not only be for a particular period of time.
Furthermore, he thanked Dr. Genevieve Mordi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on International Affairs and Special Duties; High Chief Samson Gordons Okomitie, SSA to Delta State Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution; General Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Peace Building and Intelligence Gathering; Mr. Onwusa Stanley and Olorogun Scott Oghenevbogaga Udu, CEO, Scores Nigeria Limited Company for supporting the giveaway program that was coordinated from his social media handles, Ossai Ovie Success on Facebook, Ossaioviesuccess on Instagram and ossaiovie on Twitter.
He advised Deltans to be patient with the Delta State Government and also understand that the lockdown is not meant to punish them but to protect them from the disease. He added: “So there is need for us all to stay at home, obey government’s directives and follow the NCDC guidelines. The single most important action we can all take in fighting Coronavirus is to stay at home in order to protect ourselves and save lives.”
