Delta COVID-19 Food Bank: Okowa Urged To Ensure Even Distribution

Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has been urged to ensure effective monitoring and supervision of the planned distribution of food from the established bank in order to restrict some self centred politicians from using the items to better the lots of their political loyalists in order to gain cheap political points. A business administrator/ manager in the state, Comrade Bruno Okonye , Ogbueshi Ike Nwosisi , Asagba of Okpanam, Obi Ozili Adimabuah and Ogbueshi Udemezue Okonji who who made the call in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area while speaking to journalists , advised politicians to desist desist from any acts that could portray them in negative lights. Mr. Okonye and Ogbueshi Okonji , however, commended Governor Okowa for the approach his administration had been adopting towards ensuring that COVID-19 pandemic would not spread further in the state beyond the index case which had been recorded. They frowned at the adverse economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic, adding that a situation whereby few individuals were selected by their political leaders accessed the food bank would not be in the best interest of the Okowa administration. Speaking further Ogbueshi Ike Nwosisi , who particularly said that Okpanam community had been complying with the lockdown directive by the gpvernor, noted that all political representatives of the people must continue to display high sense of integrity and trust. While calling on politicians in the area to contribute their quota towards ameliorating the sufferings of the people occasioned by the COVID-19 lockdown, Ogbueshi Ike Nwosisi and Ogbueshi Udemezue Okonji , admonished them to shun any approach that could be counterproductive especially when those entrusted with the sharing of the food to every Deltan and household in the state.
