I Don’t Have COVID-19, Want To Go Home, Patient Speaks From Isolation Centre In Warri

A voice recorded message with source yet to be unraveled has claimed to be the lady that was diagnosed with Coronavirus yesterday in Delta State, saying that she does not have the disease and wants to go home and be released from the isolation centre in the General Hospital, Warri.

She gave her name as Omamuzor Igara.

It will be recalled that the Delta State Government yesterday said that the result of the suspected COVID-19 patient in Otu-Jeremi, headquarters of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State is positive for the virus, saying that she showed some symptoms of the disease and also has tuberculosis.

The said lady corroborated the account of a senior staff of the hospital who said she visited the hospital in the company of her boyfriend.

This, she said happened after she was referred from Otor-Udu to General Hospital, Warri for the treatment of cough which she was diagnosed of in a medical laboratory in Otor-Udu.

According to her, she does not have COVID-19 and her cough has subsided and should be allowed to go home.

Her words: “The test I did at Otor-Odu before I was referred to the General Hospital said I had pneumonia. In 2004, I was diagnosed of this disease.”

She disclosed that she was yet to be shown any result that showed that she has COVID-19.

In the said recorded message which is suspected to be a phone conversation with a journalist, Omamuzor condemned in strong terms the writer of the report that said she has COVID-19.

Furthermore, she said she is not well taken care of at the isolation centre where she is because her meals are denied her when due, as she called on the Governor of the state to come and see for himself that she does not have the disease.

Also, she said that there was no time that she was visited by the Chairman of the Local Government Area as he claimed.

“I don’t have running stomach or any other symptom of COVID-19. I want to go home,” she said.

When contacted, the Commissioner of Information in the state, Mr. Charles Aniagwu did not pick his calls, but said in a text message “sorry I can’t talk right now.”
