Coalition Mobilises Funds To Support FG In Fight Against COVID-19

The Society Committee Against COVID19 (SOCOCOVID) said it has concluded plans to contribute finances to compliment government’s effort in the fight against the dreaded Coronavirus.

National Coordinator of the coalition, Kenneth Ibe-Kalu who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja during a press conference, maintained that the main business of the coalition was to champion
humanitarian causes as regards the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging humanity.

Ibe-Kalu added that the intention of SOCOCOVID was also to use instruments available to carryout campaign against COVID-19 in other to
reduce its fangs and death toll.

The cordinator disclosed that members will carryout all forms of campaign to enlighten, sensitize and create awareness on the dangers of COVID-19 to Nigerian citizens.

He further advised members to carryout, using all available platforms to campaign against drug-abuse, and those who use drugs to enable them understand that they are most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Ibe-Kalu noted that the body would also complement government efforts in decongesting prisons or correctional detention centers and all other places of detention.

The cordinator further pledged to support the society by giving out palliatives and other half of supplies as well as collaborating with government at all levels and all interested local and international organizations to tackle the pandemic.
