Uzodinma Advocates For One Nigeria, Pays 8 Million Naira To Fulani Herdsmen
—Says Almajiri Should Not Be Stigmatized
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has disclosed that the State Government in its wisdom paid the sum of 8 million Naira to Fulani Herdsmen who lost their cows at Ezinihitte Mbaise, for the sake of one Nigeria.
The Governor made this known when he received the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) at the Imo State Government House, Owerri.
Governor Uzodimma affirmed that Imo people are hospitable people and will do everything possible to make the state conducive for every Nigerian, irrespective of their religion or tribe.
Governor Uzodimma also frowned at Governors who are rejecting and deporting Alamajiri from their state, noting that that is not the spirit of one Nigeria.
The Governor further assured that Almajiris are free to stay in the state.
He however noted that those of them coming into Imo from other states will undergo the mandatory process of 14 days self isolation before they are allowed into the society.
Furthermore, he thanked Miyetti Allah for their support and prayers, while assuring them that Imo under his watch will ensure that there is prosperity for all.
One of the leaders of the association, Alhaji Yakubu Bello, in his response,thanked Governor Uzodimma for making the state conducive for them to conduct their business, as he assured the Governor of their unalloyed support and good will.
