NANS Zone B Condemns Rape, Murder Of UNIBEN Student, Urge Security Operatives To Find Killers

The leadership of NANS Zone B, has condemned the rape and murder of Uwaila Omazuwa, an 100-level student of Microbiology, University of Benin (UNIBEN).
In a press statement signed by Comr. Jeremiah Friday O.( aka Apple Water), Coordinator,
NANS Zone B ( South South and South East) and made available to this medium, the students’ body disclosed that “reports reaching the Zonal Secretariat by the Edo State Zonal Representative, said on the 27th of May 2020, the victim, Uwa Omazuwa, visited the RCCG Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, where she was reading. Some men are reported to have made their way into the church auditorium where they struck her in the head with a fire extinguisher, raped her and left her for dead.
“A security guard at the church reportedly found her in a pool of blood and informed his superiors at the church.
“The 22-year-old victim, who was unconscious, was rushed to the university teaching hospital where she narrated her ordeal. She however, succumbed to her injuries three days later.
“The case was reported at the Oregbeni Police station, Benin. According to a friend of the deceased, she recently gained admission into the University of Benin and yet to do matriculation as of the time of her death on May 30th, 2020.”
NANS urged security operatives to investigate and bring the culprits to face the law.
“While we sympathise with the family of the deceased, we pray that the Almighty God give them the heart to bear this great loss,” the statement added.
