Okpe Kingdom To Hold 2-Day Prayer, Fasting Programme Against Untimely Death, Others

The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Delta State, His Royal Majesty, Orhue 1, Major Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (retd), has called for a 2-day fasting and prayer programme to tackle untimely death in the land.
It will be recalled that in less than three months, at least three notable Okpe sons have passed on.
The list includes Bishop Emuobor, Presiding Bishop, President and Founder of Trinity Gospel Mission, Ughelli, the Commissioner representing Sapele, Ethiope West and Okpe local government areas on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Mr Joyce Overah and former commissioner representing Delta State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Tom Amioku.
The programme with theme: ‘O Lord Heal Our Land’ and scriptural text 2 Chronicles 7:14-15, will hold on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27, 2020.
A press statement signed by Rt. Revd. Iboyi Godday (JP), President General, Okpe Christian Assembly Worldwide said: “I am directed by His Royal Majesty, Orhue 1, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom to invite and inform all Okpe Sons and Daughter worldwide to a special fasting and prayer programme for 2 days spanning through Friday, 26th – Saturday 27th of June, 2020.”
According to the statement, on Friday, all Okpe sons and daughters are to fast and pray with their families from 6:00am – 2:00pm in their respective homes, churches and business places, while on Saturday, the programme will hold at the Udogu Hall, Orerokpe in Delta State.
The cleric called on all government functionaries, Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Okpe Local Government Chairman, Sapele Local Government Chairman, all civil servants that are Okpe sons and daughters, political appointees, all Udogu (Okpe Supreme Council), the 13 District Heads, community leaders, all leaders of churches in Okpe Kingdom to be at the King’s palace, Orerokpe on Saturday by 11:00am prompt for the conclusion of the programme.
According to the organizers, apart from praying against the spirit of untimely death in the land, the programme will also focus on praying for the healing of the land and peace and stability in Okpe Kingdom.
Also, special prayers will be made for the king, His Royal Majesty, Orhue 1, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom and his entire family.
