Delta LG Chairmanship Aspirant, Pemu Donates Toiletries To Prison Inmates
A Chairmanship aspirant in Sapele Local Government Council in Delta State, Mr. Festus Pemu, has donated toiletries to inmates of the Correctional Service Centre in Sapele, as the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic continues to wreck havoc on the world with Nigeria seriously hit.
Pemu made the donation when he visited the Deputy Comptroller in charge of the facility, Mr. T. E.Okoka, under the platform of Festus Pemu for Social Development and Peace Building Foundation.
The items donated included bathing soaps, detergents for laundry as well as sanitary pads and other needs for women.
Speaking with the Deputy Comptroller, Pemu expressed delight at the privilege, noting that the prisoners deserve care especially at such difficult times.
“This isn’t the first time that the foundation is handing out donations but it’s the first time we are doing this for the Correctional Service Centre in terms of providing needs. We have outlined visits to other places too as part of our reach out to the poor program as one of the activities.

“I have been moved by the inmates plight, that is why when the time came this time to reach out, the Correctional service came to my mind.”
He encouraged other NGOs and philanthropists to equally visit the Correction Centres as part of CSR and philanthropy.
“No one is going to arrest you or victimize you when you come to the prisons. If God has positioned you to assist, please give, if you have the means to assist them at the prisons, please do so,” he urged.
Receiving the items, the Deputy Comptroller Corrections,DCC in-charge of Sapele Correction Centre, Mr. T.E Okoka said, “I’m very grateful to take delivery of these items. Its a thing of joy that you have remembered us today and as you do, God will continue to remember and bless you.”
He noted that the Pemu Foundation was worth emulating, adding: “We hope that when you come here next time, God would have answered your heart desires.”
