Ekpan: Rotary Club Empowers 30 Youths With Starter Packs Worth Millions Of Naira

Rotary Club, Ekpan recently empowered 30 youths with starter packs running into millions after successfully training them.

As part of efforts to cushion the effects of unemployment in the Delta State, the youths of Ekpan in Uvwie Local Government Area, who were trained by Rotary Club of Ekpan district 9141 in the production of cocktails and mocktail drinks have been empowered with starter packs worth millions of naira.

Presenting the starter packs to the beneficiaries that were selected from the various quarters in Ekpan, the president of the club, Rotarian Rt. Hon. Olorogun Sunny Akpodiogaga Emeyese,, commended them for their efforts throughout the training which took place at Isahaka Hotel in Warri.

According to him, “the essence of presenting the starter packs is to empower the benefiaries to be on their own, adding that Rotary Club cannot trian them and leave them just like that.

“We must equip them so that they can become employers of labour.”

Continuing, he urged them to put the items into proper use in order to last for them and make money for themselves and said that they will also be monitoring them to ensure that they are practising what they have learnt.

Speaking further, Rotarian Emeyese hinted that, “anything we are doing we want it to be sustained, and we are still going to ensure that, when we  notice they are doing well we will continue to assist them to grow.”

He also stressed that, Rotary Club is all about humanitarian service which he said the club is doing right now by rendering service to the immediate people in the environment, and the larger society, noting that, the club also believes in impacting knowledge in helping people to become somebody in future, saying,  the basic need of the training is to economically develop the people. 

In the  same vein, the past District Governor of the club, Rotarian Ikpowonsa Igiemudia, and Rotarian Stephen Ogubor in their separate chat with newsmen, commended the youths for their efforts during the training calling on them to ensure that they make proper use of the starter parks. 

However, Tabele Reromo, Osazuwa Favour and other beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen at the end of the programme thanked the executive and members of Rotary Club of Ekpan over the kind gestures, assuring them that they will continue to put them in proper perspective.

High point of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates to the beneficiaries.
