The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2020 Edo State governorship elections, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has mocked the Governor of the state and candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, over the several resignation of cabinet members and aides from his administration.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Ize-Iyamu wondered how “the governor who could not persuade his closest aides and other officials who worked with him personally for four years to support his re-election, is going to persuade the people of Edo State he promised security, jobs, and healthcare but failed to provide any.”

According to him, “There is no stronger evidence of failure than the fact that the Governor’s own aides and appointees, after four years of observing and working with him, are telling Edo people that he is not the right leader for the State.”
He continued: “Unfortunately, to save face, the outgoing Governor has resorted to brute force and intimidation to coerce people into remaining in his sinking ship. These actions are against the rule of law and represent a bad show of leadership.”
Speaking further, he said: “The L in the #POISIMPLEAGENDA stands for ‘Leadership By Example’. A responsible Governor, and the government he leads, must be able to inspire and set good examples by respecting the rights and freedom of others, embrace and demonstrate transparency and accountability, and/
/display high moral values that others can learn from.”
He added: “We stand with our people against a government bent on criminalizing free choice and together, we will win and usher in a new dawn on the 19th of September.”
