Just as Jesus’ Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem as recorded in the holy bible, so it was on Sunday August 16th, 2020 as thousands of supporters from Jesse, Mosogar and Oghara singing solidarity songs as their principal, Hon. Irikefe Mathew Agbroko, visited the Executive Director, Finance and Administration in the board of DESOPADEC. Chief Barr. John Obukohwo Nani at his country home in Jesse.
This visit, we learnt was to officially inform the leader of his intention to contest for the Ethiope West Chairmanship election, come 2021.
The support for the Chairmanship aspirant was massive, welcoming and unprecedented as it was difficult to know if it was a gubernatorial or chairmanship consultation.
In his speech, Hon. Irikefe Mathew Agbroko while thanking Chief Barr. John Nani for receiving him and his campaign team, said that the idea to represent the good people of Ethiope West came as a result of the fact that he wants to replicate and consolidate on the good governance of the ED DESOPADEC, John Nani.

Agbroko while appealing to his leader, Hon. John Obukohwo Nani to send him to the council as the next local government Chairman of Ethiope West, maintained that his first primary assignment if voted into power, come 2021 is to switch on the light of Ethiope West in terms of infrastructure, provision of social amenities, improve environmental condition, youths empowerment, technical and vocational education, improve agricultural standard, consolidate on the security architecture of local government and run an open door/all inclusive administration.
Irikefe Mathew Agbroko has contributed to the development of Ethiope West in various ways as an individual without government portfolio.
According to supporters, his contribution to Jesse, Mosogar and Oghara kingdoms cannot be over emphasized, raging from empowerment of the youths, putting Jesse in the scheme of affairs in the international community via the agricultural sector, giving grants to women, and a good number of Ethiope West women on stipend under his payroll.
Irikefe Mathew Agbroko who was also instrumental during the restoration of electricity to Jesse, rehabilitation of roads in Jesse and currently overseeing the education of Ethiope West youths studying aboard under his education scheme among others too numerous to mention, are some of the developmental and commendable projects Agbroko has done without government portfolio.
Responding, Chief Barr. John Nani who was overwhelm with Agbroko’s success stories of touching the lives of the people of Ethiope West, said that the quality of a good leader is to make positive impact and as such, urged him to maintain the tempo.
His words: “You know 2021 chairmanship election is around the conner, and aspirants are coming to visit me for consultation.
“As a party leader we will look at all the aspirants and pick the best. But, I must commend Agbroko for his approach. I pray God grants him his heart desires,” Nani said.
It should be noted that Irikefe Mathew Agbroko holds a Masters Degree in Energy and Petroleum Economics from Delta State University Abraka.
