One Killed, As Cult Goups Clash In Delta Community

There was serious tension on Tuesday afternoon as a yet-to-be-identified man was killed during a cult clash in Usieffurun community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Daily Post reports that several persons were seriously injured during the clash.
The suspected cultists wielded dangerous weapons during the clash, just as they shot sporadically into the air.
It took the prompt intervention of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, Otu-Jeremi Divisional Headquarters to restore calm in the already tensed area down.

When contacted for comments, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the report in a telephone chat with our correspondent in Warri.
She said, “Yes, it’s true, one person was killed.”
Meanwhile, leaders of Usieffurun community have imposed a curfew in the town.
The curfew, which will begin from 7 pm, is to curtail the excesses of the cult groups in the town in line with that of the Delta State Government.
