Edo Poll: Buhari Reacts, As Obaseki Wins

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the just concluded Edo State governorship election, saying that his “commitment to free and fair elections is firm.”
Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmad, tweeted the president’s statement after the announcement of final results that said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the election, Godwin Obaseki defeated his closest rival, Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He added: “Without free and fair elections, the foundation of our political and moral authority will be weak.”
