JUST IN: Labour Unions Suspend Strike, Reach Agreement With FG

The planned indefinite strike by labour unions scheduled to commence today has been suspended.

This is after the Federal Government and labour unions reached an agreement at about 2.53a.m. on Monday.

Also the Buhari adminstration’s decision to remove subsidy and the consequent increase in fuel price stands, as the increase in electricity tariff was suspended by the Federal Government for two weeks.

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Barr. Festus Keyamo disclosed this in a tweet.

His tweet read: “FG & LABOUR reach agreement at 2:53am. Deregulation to stay as Govt rolls out palliatives for labour (details in 2 weeks); Electricity tariffs suspended by Govt for 2 weeks with a joint Committee headed by @fkeyamo to examine the justification for the new policy.”
