The good people of Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State are happy over the recent official crowning of HRM Monday Obukowho Whiskey Udurhie 1 as their king.
Idjerhe Kingdom our correspondent gathered is a lovely kingdom that has three sub clans Jesse Central Oguedion, Boboroku and Oyonubu sub clan.
Expressing deep gratitude to God for the success of the installation of HRM, Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhie 1, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, the Idjerhe Traditional Council of Chiefs have pledged total loyalty, unalloyed support and commitment to the leadership of HRM, Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhie 1, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, noting that Idjerhe Kingdom has only one king.
Meanwhile, it was a great jubilation at the Jesse Central Oguedion, venue of the installation of HRM Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhie 1, as the new king of Idjerhe Kingdom was full to capacity as political leaders, captain of industries, Idjerhe sons and daughters both from the educational sector and other stakeholders were all present during the official coronation.
Hon. Barr. John Nani, Executive Director, Finance and Administration in the Board of DESOPADEC, Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda, Former House of Representatives Member, Prof. (Mrs.) Cecilia Otete Okobia, Vice Chancellor, Western Delta University, Oghara, Chief Mohammed Adjaroh Oyibo and other well notable Idjerhe sons and daughters were all present during the coronation.
Speaking to journalists, Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda said that Idjerhe people have made the right choice in the person of HRM, Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhie 1, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom.
He maintained that the due process of his selection was followed to the last letter, noting that the monarch will consolidate and maintain the relative peace in Idjerhe Kingdom.
On her part, the Vice Chancellor of Western Delta University, Oghara, Prof. (Mrs.) Cecilia Otete Okobia has joined other well meaning Idjerhe sons and daughters to felicitate with HRM, Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhie 1, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom on the occasion of his coronation.

Prof. Mrs. Okobia made this call while briefing members of the press in Jesse, saying that HRM, Monday Obukowho Whiskey’s coronation is well deserved and urged all Idjerhe sons and daughters to rally round the king and support him to succeed.
Others who spoke include: Chief Mohammed Adjaroh Oyib, Kingdom nosia James Obriki, the Avwebor – Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom among others.
In the same vein, the Idjerhe Development Union, IDU has also congratulated HRM, Udurhie 1, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, Monday Obukowho Whiskey on his well deserved coronation as Idjerhe king.
IDU speaks: “We graciously and unanimously accept HRM, Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhie 1, as our royal father, our king and most reverend monarch”. “The entire Idjerhe Kingdom now has a king and we will stand by our king”.
In a related development, a source who pleaded on the ground of anonymity has told our correspondent that the Delta State Government will soon present staff of office to HRM, Monday Obukowho Whiskey, Udurhie 1, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom.
On his part, the new king of Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM, Udurhie 1, Monday Obukowho Whiskey while addressing journalists at his palace in Jesse said that he was grateful to God Almighty and to the good people of Idjerhe Kingdom.
He maintained that it is time to work collectively in moving the kingdom forward.
His words: “At this stage, as the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, I don’t discuss personal issues but kingdom issues on how we can collectively move the kingdom to the next level.”
He added: “We will map out plans on how to bring development, attract investors, to Idjerhe Kingdom; I urged all Idjerhe sons and daughters to be part of this new development as this administration will continue to work for the interest of Idjerhe people and achieve more for our great kingdom.
