Idjerhe Kingdom: Esiso, Okorodudu Bag Chieftaincy Title, As Ayemidejor, Odebala, Randy, Attend Ceremony

It was a convergence of the who is who as Sapele Political juggernauts were in the palace of His Royal Majesty Udurhie 1, King Monday Ovie Whiskey to witness the conferment of chieftaincy titles on two illustrious son of the Urhobo nation, Chief Barr. Kingsley Esiso and Hon Benson Okorodudu as the Oruese and Ufirigho of Idjerhe Kingdom respectively.

The chieftaincy title which was conferred on them by HRM King Monday Ovie Whiskey Udurhie 1 was done in honour of his staff of office which was presented to him on Monday October 26th, 2020 by Senator Dr Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa who was ably represented by his deputy, Barrister Kingsley Burutu Otuaro.

Udurhie 1 conferred on Chief Barr. Kingsley Esiso the title of the Oruese of Idjerhe Kingdom, while Mr Benson Okorodudu was given the chieftaincy title of the Ufirigho of Idjerhe Kingdom.

The monarch while praying for them enjoined them to bring development to Idjerhe Kingdom.

Hon.Austine Ayemidejor Special Project Director of Asaba International Airport who was on ground to witness the occasion told newsmen that it was indeed a joyous occasion.

In his words, “I give God all the glory; I thank His Royal Majesty, Udurhie 1 for recognizing and conferring on them the title of Chiefs of Idjerhe Kingdom. Chief Benson Okorodudu has paid his dues for such a long time within the political space. He has been quite consistent, reliable, dependable, and very faithful ensuring that our political party wins election for the past twenty one years since its inception. He deserves the title given to him,” he added.

Chief Ejaife Omizu Odebala, Chairman of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation who was speaking in the same vein, expressed his excitement over the chieftaincy title given to the prominent sons of the soil.

Speaking accordingly, the chairman of RUWASA described Chief Benson Okorodudu as an industrious and humble man who has risen from grass to grace, adding that people are usually giving chieftaincy titles based on merit and their contributions to the society at large without necessary asking for it.

Mr Richard Randy Okotie CEO of Richard’s Continental Hotel who was also on ground to witness the celebration of the historic chieftaincy title since the emergence of His Royal Majesty Udurhie 1 King Ovie Monday Whiskey said that he was indeed very elated to witness an event such as this in the Idjerhe Kingdom.

He further said that those who were given the chieftaincy title deserve it.

“I personally want to congratulate Chief Barr. Kingsley Esiso for adding another feather to his cap,” he added.

Addressing pressmen shortly after they were conferred with the title, Chief Barr Kingsley Esiso and Chief Benson Okorodudu thanked the Idjerhe Monarch respectively for finding them worthy of the Chieftaincy title, stating that the chieftancy title would motivate them to do more for the people and it will spur them to double their efforts and contributions towards the development and growth of the kingdom

Those who graced the occasion include Chief Eugene Inoaghan, Hon. Julius Egbedi, Chief Jite Brown, Chief Perkins Umukoro, Hon. Festus Pemu, Chief Austin Atite, Chief Aghogho Adibor, Council of Chiefs Idjerhe Kingdom and a host of other dignitaries.
