BREAKING: Saraki, Others To Lose Benefits, As AbdulRazaq Sends Bill To Revoke Pension For Ex-Governors, Deputies Next Week

By Daniel Dafe
Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has said that his adminstration is making moves to end pension benefits for former governors and their deputies in the state.
In a tweet on Friday, the governor said: “In line with our campaign mantra and the yearnings of our people, next week I will be sending a bill to the State House of Assembly to revoke the law awarding pension packages to former governors and former deputy governors in Kwara State.”
According to him, the “state needs all the resources it can get to improve the human capital development.
He added: “I believe our limited resources are better spent on tackling the question of poverty and youth unemployment.”
If this bill is made law next week, the likes of Saraki a one-time Governor of the state and others would lose their monthly jumbo benefits.
