A coalition of Civil Society Organizations, CSO’s in Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa for the steps he is taking at enforcing the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu’s zero tolerance against crime and criminality, extortion and victimization in the State.

This is contained in a statement signed by Comrade Israel Joe, a human right activist and Coordinator of the #ENDSARS# protests in Delta State.

The CSO’s urged the IGP to ignore the dry threat of what it termed, “Expired activist and suspended National Vice President of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights(CDHR), Prince Kehinde Taiga who does not have the capacity to mobilize people into a protest.

“Being one of the coordinators of the #EndSars Peaceful protest in Delta State, the acclaimed activist was missing in action and never supported our move in reforming the system.

“He was suspended due to his manner of extortion from members of the public and he has no moral standing to call for the removal of the competent Commissioner of Police.

“We are ready to mobilize our numbers against him in a counter protest should gullible few follow him on any protest and we also call on the Inspector General of Police to investigate him in a bid to clean up the system from criminals masquerading as activists in Delta State.”

The embattled National Vice Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, Comrade Prince Kehinde Taiga had in an online report issued the IGP a one month ultimatum to transfer and replace the State Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa from the State.

He insisted that CP Inuwa must be replaced with a more competent and focused commissioner.

His grouse is that under his watch, his men are getting deep into extortion in the divisions and he is not doing anything about it.

He said if the Inspector General fails to heed his call within the stipulated time beginning from November 1 to the last day of the month, a heavier protest than that of the #EndSARS which shook the nation to its foundation will be held in Delta State.

He said the protest would defy all curfew restrictions in the state so as to achieve its objective.

Taiga is calling for total sanity among police officers in Delta state.

He also called on CP Inuwa to give account of all the security votes from the state government to the command since he assumed office over a year ago.
