Bandits Release Former NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga
Retired Brig Gen Maharazu Tsiga, the former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been released by his abductors after 22 days in captivity.
Tsiga was kidnapped on February 6, 2025, from his residence in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, by armed assailants.
The kidnappers, reportedly led by the notorious bandit leader Babaro, initially demanded a ransom of N250 million for his release.

Reliable sources have confirmed that Tsiga has regained his freedom and is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital. Details regarding the circumstances of his release remain undisclosed.
