Late Evang Esisio Laid To Rest In His Hometown, Uwheru

The remains of the late outspoken Evangelist and the pioneer Civil Engineer who opened the Ministry of Works at Obiaruku, in Ukwani Local Government Area of Delta State, Evang Nathan Dietohwota Esisio, has been laid to rest.

He was buried penultimate weekend in his home town, Uwheru, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The late Evangelist died on the 28th of February, 2020.

In a tribute, his wife Mrs. Roseline Israel Brighodawhare Esisio, described her husband as a man full of knowledge, and conversant with history, who stood for truth, humility, honesty, and contentment while alive .

His son Mr Jackson Esisio, said, his late father was a friend, supporter, mentor and a coach, who sacrificed all for the well being of the family.

He lamented that his father left him when he needed him most.

The son in-law to the late Evangelist, Sir Jude Omorigho (KSM), also described him as a unique person; and a credible and faithful soldier in the vineyard of God, whose life personified humility and kindness to all.

Born in 1945, in Uwheru, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, the late Esiso, attended Church Missionary Society ( CMS) School, Uwheru, between 1954 – 1960, when he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. In 1964, exactly four years later, he obtained his Modern School Leaving Certificate. In a bid to further improve his education through personal efforts, he enrolled as a private candidate for the Ordinary and the Advanced Levels School Certificate examinations which he passed in flying colours. Encouraged and supported by his wife , the late Evangelist Esiso, proceeded to the College of Education, Warri, where he bagged his National Certificate in Education ( NCE) in 1982.

He worked as a teacher between 1966 – 1970, teaching in four different primary schools: CMS School, Evwreni, Izeze Primary School, Agadama, Okugbe Primary School, Ogode, and St Luke’s Primary School, Ughelli.

The late Evang Esiso, also worked with the Ministry of Works, Benin, in the then Bendel State, as a Supervisory Engineer. At the creation of Delta State in 1991, he was transferred to Orerokpe, in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, as a Supervisory Engineer from where he was sent to Sapele to supervised the construction of Sapele – Warri Road , Reclamation Road and Commercial Avenue Road, etc, in Sapele. In view of his excellent performance, guided with the fear of God and unmatchable humility, the late Esiso, was transferred to Sapele, where he served for many years, before he was again transferred to Obiaruku, in Ukwani Local Government Area of the state as the pioneer Civil Engineer who opened the Ministry of Works. His last place of work in the Ministry o Works is the Oghara Office where he retired in 2008.

Orphaned at a very tender age and the untold hardship that followed, the late Evangelist concluded that there was no God and therefore, not truly to Christianity. However, his encounter with Evangelist Francis Tibekpe, in 1991, changed his perception and brought him to God. He not only accepted Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour, but remained faithfully devoted throughout the remaining days of his life. He was a vocal chorister together with his children at St Luke Anglican Church, Sapele. He was Secretary of the Urhobo Men’s Prayer Meeting; Chairman, Welfare Committee; Synod Delegate, Warri Diocese, etc. He was also, the Vice Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners; Secretary, Association of Retired Civil Servants; and Chairman of Uwheru Development Union, Sapele for six years.
