NYCN: Ukwuani Chapter Elects New Executive

The Nigeria Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ukwuani Local Government Area chapter, has elected new executive members led by Comrade Chukwunalu Michael Olise to pilot the affairs of the body in the next 4 years.

While declaring the candidates as winners of the respective positions they contested for, Mr Morka, a representative of the Delta State Ministry of Youth Development congratulated the newly elected executives with a charge to impact positively on the lives of the youths and redefining of NYCN activities in the LGA.

The election which had all the candidates returned unoposed was adjudged as the most successful NYCN election in almost two decades according to State NYCN Officers and other independent observers who witnessed the election which was held in the council secretariat.

Members of the newly elected executives are: Olise Chukwunalu (Chairman), Dafikpako Azuka (Vice Chairman), Okwuobodo Azuka (1st Vice Chairman), Romeo Chibuzor Otiuje (Secretary), Ndueze Prince Olise (Asst Sec), Olokwume Marian (Treasurer) and Chukwusah Francis Onyemaechi (Financial Secretary).

Others are; Okwanigbe Kelly Dennis (PRO), Agidi Ogochukwu (PRO II), Enuboda Ogochukwu (Organizing Secretary), Ozul Gift Onyinye (Organizing Sec II); while Enwelem Caleb, Ogonegbu Festus and Eden Nkonye emerged Auditor I, Auditor II and Provost respectively.

Meanwhile, the Chairman-elect Comr. Olise Chukwunalu, an active member of the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) thanked God for the victory and his organization (AYF) for their support and prayers.

Comr. Chukwunalu, a one time Senate President (2013) in Delta State University Student’s Representative Council (SRC) said his visions for the NYCN are to redefine and reposition the youths for better recognition, engagement and for pragmatic leadership in the society; to liaise and partner with community youths to ensure that their elections are conducted jointly with the NYCN; engage ministries and agencies for the empowerment and meaningful engagement of the youths in the local government.

He also stated that the youths in Ukwuani local government area will be widely engaged in sporting activities and competition as well as harnessing of potential talents in entertainment.

“We understand that there is high expectation from anybody in any form of leadership position and by the grace of God, we will not disappoint the Ukwuani youths, our various organizations and NYCN”.

“We will at all times exhaust all channels and strategies of consultation, consolidation before resorting to confrontation. Also, we will not confront nor combat cultism rather we will adopt behavioral change campaign, engaging religious organizations, traditional institutions and reorientation of the youths to advocate for the need of the youths to shun vices and embrace up to take up leadership roles in the society,” he said.

Earlier, the motion for the dissolution of the Ndukaku Buchi-led executive of the NYCN, Ukwuani Chapter was moved by Comr. Chukwusah Francis of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) and seconded by Okwanigbe Kelly Dennis of the Men of Order and Discipline (MOD) and so, the excos stand dissolved pending the swearing in of the elected executives in the coming days.
