Wike: We Will Lose Another PDP Governor To APC Just Like Umahi
By Daniel Dafe
Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that another governor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will defect just like Dave Umahi of Ebony State to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) soon.
Recall that Umahi officially joined the APC on Tuesday after he publicly announced his decision.
Speaking on Wednesday during a live program on Channels TV’s ‘Politics Today’, although Wike did not mention the name of the said governor, he opined that just like Umahi before his defection, he acted as a PDP member in the day and APC member at night.
Wike who debunked reports that his desire to run the party made the likes of Umahi defect, said that the reason Umahi left was because of his presidential ambition.
Speaking on reports that he intends to run under Tambuwal as Vice President in 2023, Wike said that he has a right to vie for the position but said that he has not yet made up his mind on who he will run with as Vice Presidential candidate.
