NAPPS Appeals To Gov. Okowa For Assistance

The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Olowa for assistance.
NAPPS National Vice Chairman, South-South Region, Dr Ochuko Akpeme and the Chairman, Uvwie Local Government Area Chapter, Mrs Rose Obi, made the appeal recently in their separate interactions with newsmen shortly after the end of year party of the association in Effurun, headquarters of Uvwie Local Government.
Akpeme, who is the Proprietor of Classical International Group of Schools, noted that the lockdown adversely affected most private schools and therefore appealed for soft loans or grants from Governor Okowa.
“We assist government in no small way in employment of labour and we also pay our renewal fees regularly,” he said.
Similarly, Mrs Obi noted that private school owners were working as complementary bodies to government, adding, “So government should give us an enabling environment by assisting us.”

The treasurer of NAPPS, Uvwie Local Government Area Chapter, Mrs Onyi Ikemefuna, who won the Personality Award at the event, assured that private school owners were always prepared to complement government’ s efforts in the development of education in the state.
She noted her award was well deserved and that she worked for it.
Deacon M O Ifoghare and Pastor Paul Esene (Delta State Chairman and Vice Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area Chapters of NAPPS respectively thanked God for the success of the event.
Elder Emmanuel Ukeredi, Dame C O Bakpa, Pastor Roda Ikede, Lady Uche Nwanolue, Chief Anastasia Agbatutu and Victor Ezeatu were honored with the award of fellow of NAPPS Uvwie Local Government Area Chapter.
Highpoint of the epoch-making event was the unveiling of the 2021 Calendar of NAPPS, Uvwie Local Government Chapter.
