Netflix Producer, Lin Qi Dies From Alleged Poisoning At 39

Chairman of Yoozoo Games and a Netflix producer, Lin Qi, is dead.

He died at the age of 39.

Qi died following days of illness allegedly caused by a poisoned tea.

The Chinese billionaire created Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming game.

In 2015, his company, Yoozoo Group, acquired the rights to Chinese sci-fi trilogy, The Three Body Problem.

In September, Netflix disclosed that it would adapt the books into an English series collaborating with Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss.

According to Shanghai police, a suspect have been detained for the alleged poisoning and local media identified the suspect as Lin’s colleague, Xu Yao.

“Goodbye youth. We will be together, continue to be kind, continue to believe in goodness, and continue the fight against all that is bad”, the company said in a statement.

Newsmen write that Lin established Yoozoo in 2009 and according to Hurun China Rich List, his net worth is around 6.8billion yuan.
