Unknown Gunmen Kill Oyo Politician

An Oyo state-based politician, Fatai Aborode, has died after he was allegedly shot dead by unknown gunmen on Friday, December 11.
Aborode who ran for the seat of the House of Representatives candidate on the platform of the Accord party during the 2015 general elections, was allegedly killed just as he was leaving his farm around 4pm in the company of his manager on a motorbike.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Oyo state police command, Gbenga Fadeyi, said Aborode was confirmed dead by doctors at the Olugbon hospital Igboora where he was rushed to after the attack.
He added that efforts are being made to arrest the gunmen.
”At about 17:50 hrs of 11/12/2020, along Apodun road Igangan, one Alh Fa tai Aborode ‘m’ of Igangan, was robbed and shot by four unknown gunmen, the victim was rushed to Olugbon hospital Igboora where he was confirmed dead.
Effort is on to arrest the fleeing assailants.”Fadeyi said
