Women Charged To Build Verile Society

A nonogarian and traditional women leader of Umuomahe village in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs. Comfort Nwabuoku, has underscored the need for women to brace up to the challenge of building a verile society.
Mrs. Nwabuoku, who made the call in Okpanam while ascending to the throne of the Ada-Isi of Umuomahe village, said that the call had become necessary as deliberate approach towards taking the society to enviable height.
While advocating for women to be given equal opportunities with their men counterpart to excel and impact on the society, Mrs. Comfort Nwabuoku said that she was happy to ascend to the throne as the oldest woman in Umuomahe.
She solicited the cooperation of her subjects to enable her succeed in the leadership of the community, adding that they should continue to play key role in bringing up decent children just as she pledged to operate an open door policy in order to attract meaningful socio-economic growth and development to the community.
In his remarks, a renowned academian, Dr. Ngozichukwuka Nwabuoku, who is one of the sons of the celebrant described success by any individual in the society without a particular successor as a monumental failure.

Dr. Nwabuoku, said that every successful person should evolve ways of giving back to the society and noted that the celebrant had touched several lives positively.
He stated that the recognition indicated that the celebrant was the oldest woman in Umuomahe village.
Also speaking, Mrs . Ifeanyi Uchisi said that her mother’s reign would usher in not only effective leadership, peace and unity among the ‘Umuadas’ , but would also strive to bring development to the area even as she called for women to be given their pride of place in decision making in the society.
The high point of the ceremony was the decoration of the celebrant, Mrs. Comfort Nwabuoku with ‘Akwua Ocha ‘ cloth by the Umuadas.
