Delta Council Polls: DSIEC Screens 974 Candidates
Ahead of the Delta State Local Government Elections, the State Independent Electoral Commission ( DSIEC), has successfully completed the screening of no fewer than 974 candidates across the three sanatorial districts
DSIEC Director of Information, Mr Arubi Orugboh, who confirmed this to Platinum Post, said that 296 candidates were screened on Monday when contestants from Delta South presented themselves for the exercise, while 359 candidates were verified on Tuesday when candidates from Delta Central took their turn.
He said the final batch of the verification exercise meant for the Delta North senatorial district candidates had 319 persons, bringing to a total of 974 persons that have been screened.

Orugboh said that the final result of the verification exercise would be made public on February 2, 2021, adding that the screening of candidates started from Monday January 11, 2021 to Wednesday January 13 at the Commission’s Office in Asaba with candidates from 14 political parties.
Rating the verification exercise, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship Candidate for Oshimili South Local Government Area, Mr Kelvin Ezenyeili, commended the transparency in the exercise.
