Okere Urhobo Kingdom: Okumagba, Round Peg In Round Hole — UPU Scribe

The Secretary – General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Worldwide, Chief Kenneth Iwhewhe, has asserted that HRM Emmanuel Okumagba is a round peg in a round hole as the Orosueship of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, in Warri South Local Government Area.

The scribe of the apex socio-cultural body of Urhobo nation made the assertion in his key note address during the solidarity visit of UPU to HRM Emmanuel Okumagba (JP), Okumagba II on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

Iwhewhe, who was the leader of UPU’s delegation on the visit, explained that the newly installed traditional ruler of Okere Urhobo Kingdom was a resourceful, highly connected and humble personality.

“The UPU, Warri Urhobos and indeed Urhobo Nation are happy over your emergence as the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom. That is why we are here to felicitate and rejoice with you,” he said.

He then called on the Okere Urhobo people to pray and support HRM Okumagba II to succeed in the rulership of Okere Urhobo Kingdom.

He had earlier commiserated with the Okere Urhobo people over the demise of their Otota (Spokesman), Wilson Eboh.

Other distinguished personalities in the delegation of UPU Worldwide, included the National Auditor, Chief Peter Obodo; Assistant National Secretary, Chief Dickson Oyovwi; Chief Ese Adehor, who represented the women leader, Chief Christiania Siakpere, Hon. Dora Aweto and Deputy President of UPU Youth Wing, Comrade Francis Okoh.

The Idundun Family of Okere had earlier paid the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom a solidarity visit.

A spokesman of the Idundun Family, Hope Idundun in his speech, also congratulated HRM Okumagba II on his installation as the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri.

Few days before this visit, the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM Obukowho Monday Whiskey, Udurhie I, also paid the newly installed traditional ruler of Okere Urhobo Kingdom a solidarity visit.
