Police Debunks Reports That Officer Who “Rejected N840M Bribe” Has Resigned

The Nigeria Police has come out to debunk claims making rounds that CSP Francis Osage Erhabor, who is famous for revealing that he resisted the urge to receive bribe worth over 840 million naira, has resigned from the Force due to refusal of the authorities to promote him to the next rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in the recently released list of officers promoted by the Police Service Commission.

The widely celebrated officer is the current Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘D’ Division, Itam in Akwa Ibom State.

The rebuttal statement was released today by the Police Public relations officer in Akwa Ibom state, SP and Odiko MacDON.

He said, ‘for the avoidance of doubt, appointments and resignations are not done on social media,’ and that the Commissioner of Police was not in receipt of any such resignation letter from the said officer and he has not received any communicated same in any form to the Force Headquarters.
