Delta Non-Indigenes Association Visits Okowa, Condoles Him Over Father’s Loss

Non-indigenes of Delta State have commiserated with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over the loss of his father, Sir Arthur Okowa, who died last week at 88.

Led by the state’s Chairman of the Non Indigenes Association, Chief Joseph Ikhena JP, the group was received by the Governor at the residence of Late Pa Okowa at Owa – Alero, Ika North-East Local Government Area on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Chief Ikhenna told Okowa to be comforted by the fulfilled life that Pa Okowa lived.

While commending Okowa for his development strides, they urged the governor and the Okowa family to take solace in the fact that their late father left indelible footprints in their lives and for humanity.

He said the deceased valued education and gave his children the best of it.

“He was a great educationist, who ensured that his children went to very good schools, which has helped them to become great achievers in life,” he said, adding: “We have come here today to condole with you on this sad development, and with pain in our hearts and smiles on our faces, we mourn with you.”

Okowa thanked the delegation for the visit, saying that he is consoled by the love and attention shown to him and the family by friends and well-wishers.

He described his father as an accomplished teacher, politician of repute and an astute community leader, who left indelible marks in the sands of time.
