By Nelson Agbajor, Sapele
As reactions continue to trail the recent
upgrade of more schools in Delta, a group known as “Forum of Patriotic Deltans” led by Mr. James Okoro Obukowho, has faulted a statement credited to the Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq who said that the recent Bill sent to the Delta State House of Assembly, for the upgrade of three Institutions of higher learning in the state, was done without tribal or ethnic consideration.

While reacting to the above assertions, the “Forum of Patriotic Deltans led by Mr. James Okoro Obukowho while backing Comrade Sheriff Mulade’s calls, described Fred Latimore’s statement as political, biased and of the interest few and a mere window dressing exercise, noting that in the spirit of equity and farness, the Ijaw nation has not done wrong by demanding an upgrade of its institutions by the Okowa administration.
The group has said in a statement that they are in support of the advice given by Chief Mulade for the Delta State Government to upgrade certain schools and institutions in Ijaw and Itsekiri nations to Universities.
The State Government recently upgraded that of the College of Education Agbor, Ozoro Polytechnic and Anwai campus of Delta State University, to full fledged Universities.
