On President Joe Biden’s Threat Of Sanctions Against Nigeria Over Gay Laws – Evidence Of A President That Has Misplaced His Priorities

With reports that, just few weeks after being sworn-in as US President, Joe Biden has issued a Presidential Memorandum aimed at expanding protection of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer and intersex (LGBTQI) people worldwide, including potentially through the use of visa and financial sanctions, which includes Nigeria amongst other African nations. All I can say is that Joe Biden is evidently not a serious-minded President who is there to make any concrete economic change in the US.

One would have expected the US President to rather focus on addressing economic and socio-political issues affecting the American people and its economic, especially in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, and not this so-called threats of trying to coerce and force African nations like Nigeria and the rest, to embrace a cultural practice that is absolutely alien to the African culture. Is this what America, as a global world economic power, has been reduced to?

I also expect the Nigerian Legislature and Government, and other African countries to come out openly and reject this West LGBTQI and same sex marriage practice. Why should the white man want to force their useless practices of gayism on Africans? If the African leaders and its people should reject the gay marriage practices, and they are denied of US Visas, is that the end of the world? Is the US Visa a passport to live forever, or to go to heaven? What rights of useless gay people is Biden talking about and protecting? Should we call this a right or madness or what? God has created the world and created man and woman, and we cannot change that. Is the US Biden’s Government God? Or what? We remain Nigerians and Africans, and not the white people. We have respect for normal human beings. Gay practice is absolute madness. It is an abomination!

Aside the fact that America has the right to do whatever they like with their lives, which they consider important to them, even when it is not that acceptable across the US, but it is important for the US President to also respect other people’s religious and cultural ways of life, and not try to coerce them to accept theirs. Nigeria is a sovereign nation, and the US President should acknowledge that fact and not try to force us to do their bidding. I don’t think Nigeria has ever tried to coerce the US and its citizens to practice some of our cultures and ways of life.

Besides, the whole LGBTQI thing, which includes same sex marriage, is un-African and against many religions of the whole world.

This is why we appreciate the fact that, despite international pressure, especially from the US Democrats, former President Goodluck Jonathan signed the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act in January 2014, prescribing between 10 to 14 years in prison for cohabitation between same-sex sexual partners, public show of same-sex relationship, registration, operation or participation in gay clubs, societies and organisation, amongst others. And considering the fact that Nigeria is a predominantly conservative country, it is unlikely that our lawmakers would revisit this anti-gay marriage law to strengthen so-bilateral relations with the United States. I remember in 2011, the then former US President Barack Obama, threatened to cut off foreign aid to Nigeria, if the said anti-gay bill was passed, but Nigerians were unwavering. And we believe it will remain so.

With this recent move by Joe Biden, I believe most Africans will start regretting for not supporting Donald Trump. Trump stood against this crazy practice of gays/lesbians amongst other obnoxious religious practices, all of which we see Biden overturning soon. And from the look of things, it is apparent that Biden is being sponsored by these LGBTQI people. The US Democrats are not morally good leaders because they all made it possible for these illicit acts to become legalized and acceptable more in the US, and it spreads across the globe.

Trump on the other hand, had good intentions, but they all ganged up against him. I repeat, gay marriage is very ungodly, and there is absolutely no justification for anyone in their right senses to support it. What we are seeing now in the US, is just the beginning of how the world will miss Trump.

The US Democrats have shown to the world that they are very ungodly. Hence they are supporting Biden with his gay action. But like I said, they are free to do gay marriage in the US if they so please. But they should not try to force same on the Nigerian government and legislature, to accept their rubbish practices. For those Africans who supported Biden, they should be disappointed for supporting the wrong person. I know some Nigerians who even designed clothes over Biden’s victory. They should be aware that they have supported the victory of forcing gay marriage on Nigerians and Africans.
