Udu: Anighoro Family Writes Christ Embassy To Stay Off Storey Building Donated To Church By Son Of Deceased Owner

Family members of Late Mrs. Roseline Anighoro have asked Christ Embassy Church to stay off a four-storey-building in Udu Local Government said to have been donated to the church by the late owner’s son, Mr. Shedrach Anighoro.

The building is situated at Williams Street, Ovwian, New Layout By Amos Utuama, Udu Local Government Area.

The said letter written by the Anighoros through their family lawyer, Barr E. J. Etaghene Esq. for Ethiope Barristers & Solicitors, made available to Oasis Magazine (OM), was addressed to the General Overseer, Believers Loveworld Ministry Inc., (Christ Embassy), through Pastor Eddy Owase, Warri Zonal Pastor, Christ Embassy, Warri, Delta State.

Describing the act as an unlawful conversion of four flats of a storey building belonging to the deceased, Barr Etaghene said the letter was written on behalf of the family on the instructions of Mr. Sunday Anighoro and Miss Happy Anighoro.

The letter said: “The said property devolved unto our clients and their siblings under the Urhobo native law and custom. It is instructive to note that the property has not been partitioned or shared to the children of Late Mrs. Rosaline Anighoro who died sometime around 18th day of January 2020.”

According to the letter, Mr. Shedrach Anighoro who is a brother to Mr. Sunday Anighoro and Miss Happy Anighoro, “gave the building to Believers Loveworld Ministry (a.k.a. Christ Embassy) as an outright gift without the consent and authorization of Mr. Sunday Anighoro, head of the family, who is the first son of Late Mrs. Rosaline Anighoro and the other siblings.”

“It must be noted that the said Mr. Shedrach Anighoro is not the owner of the building, neither is he the owner of the land where the said building is situate,” the letter added.

The Anighoro family alleged that Mr. Shedrach Anighoro may have been hoodwinked to falsify documents with the intent to transferring the property to the church.

Adding: “This act of transferring what belongs to the entire family is most reprehensible and must be condemned by well meaning individuals, especially the church. Mr. Shedrach Anighoro has no special interest in the said property to transfer to the church.”

They urged the church to “call Mr. Shedrach to order and possibly deliver him from the spirit of taking what does not belong to him.”

The Anighoro family called on the church not to seek to possess the property or lay any false claim of ownership over the said property, adding that this is “imperative in order to avoid unnecessary litigation and scandal that will bring the family name and the name of the church to ridicule.”
