I Was Not Involved In Any Kidnapping, Says Delta Councillor, Ovo Abeke
The Councillor representing Ward 8, in Sapele local government area of Delta State, Hon Ovo Abeke has denied the report that he was arrested over a kidnap issue.
Hon Abeke on Friday was rumoured to have been whisked away by men suspected to be policemen after his swearing in.
He was driving out with his supporters when a car blocked his path and he was taken to Sapele police station before being driven to Asaba.
However after the incident, a report emanated that he was arrested by the police over the case of a kidnap.
Ovo, who addressed a press conference today in his office in Sapele, said the report was not true.
“I had a land issue with the person who brought the policemen sometime around last year.

“He approached me sometime last year over my father’s land and I told him outright, it’s not for sale and months later he came back with a document from the Sapele Okpe community that he owns the land.
“I arrested him then and he took himself on bail, only for him to surface yesterday with policemen,” Ovo narrated.
The politician said the story that he was arrested over a kidnapping case, was the work of his detractors and those envious of his political rise, adding that he would rise above his enemy.
