Professor Okobiah Donates N1.7M As Endowment Fund To DELSU Mgt For Best Graduating Students

The atmosphere in Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka recently got charged as Professor Omamurhomu Okobiah, who retired from the University some years ago, ploughed back a whooping sum of N1,750,000.00 (One Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira, endowment fund to the University Management to be awarded to every best graduating student in each of the Faculties of Arts, Education, Pharmacy, Science, Engineering and Law.
The fund, which was initially meant for only the best graduating student in the Department of Music, has recently been increased to enable other students who are also doing well in their various faculties benefit.
Accordingly, the best graduating students in the aforementioned faculties will now coast away with the sum of N250, 000.00 each, at the end of the academic year.
While appreciating Professor O. S. Okobiah for the donation, the University community described the gesture as a wake up call for students to take their studies seriously in order to emerge as overall best in their Faculties.
The management, while describing Professor Okobiah as a generous donor whose impact would be felt continually in the University, implored other well meaning individuals to emulate this kind gesture.
