WAEC Gets New Chairman
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has elected a Ghanaian professor, Ato Essuman as its 20th chairman.
The election took place during the 69th meeting of Council held virtually from March 22-26.
A statement by the Head of Public Affairs, WAEC, Mr. Abiodun Adukoju, noted that Essuman takes over from Mr. Baboucarr Bouy from the Gambia for a tenure of three years.

The top three performers out of 2,122,844 in the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) west African region were also honoured during the meeting.
The trio, all from Ghana, is- Master Cecil Tetteh Kumah (first); Master Godfred Aseda Obeng (second); and Miss Afua Manukure Ansah.
