Bauchi Gov’t To Organise Marriages For Prostitutes In The State
The administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is set to conduct a census of all commercial sex workers in Bauchi State, adding that mass marriages would be held for those interested.
This was disclosed In a report by Naija News, by Aminu Balarabe-Isah, the Permanent Commissioner in charge of Hisbah and Sharia implementation, during a workshop organised for commercial sex workers.
The commissioner added that the majority of the ladies in prostitution are from the result of illiteracy, poverty or abuse from family members.
Balarabe-Isah said the state needed accurate data on the prostitutes in the state, which would help to discourage them from continuing with their line of trade.
