Delta PDP Blasts APC, Says Party Is Unserious, Unprepared For Isoko North Bye-Election
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State, has dismissed the latest allegations of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and PDP in the Isoko North Bye-Election, describing it as “the usual and expected accusations of a party, which has now become famous for its glaring unseriousness and complete lack of preparation for any election in the State.”
Responding swiftly in a press release to the recent statement by Delta APC, with title: “Isoko North Constituency Bye-Election: Delta APC Commends INEC, The Police And Other Security Personnel For Their Efforts So Far; Reveals Plans By PDP To Sabotage The Sanctity Of The Ballots At The Polls”, the Delta PDP Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza said that “the APC in the State is already well known for its puerile ranting, bellyaching and raising wild diversionary, yet baseless allegations before every election, which are all reflections of a Party that is not ready to contest any election.”
Dr. Osuoza’s press release reads this: “Our attention has been drawn to the latest Press Statement by the APC concerning the April 10, 2021, Isoko North Bye-Election and we are not surprised that the opposition party has resorted to its now-famous antics of raising wild and baseless allegations before every election, as its ready-made excuse for the usual looming defeat it will suffer as a result of its unseriousness and lack of preparation for any polls at all, whether it is the main elections or a bye-election.

“We even find it funny that the APC will in one breath, ‘commend INEC, the police and other security personnel for their efforts so far to have a hitch-free Isoko North Constituency Bye-Election,’ and still in the same breath, accuse the same INEC and security personnel of being made up of ‘unscrupulous/Adhoc staff’ who will sabotage the sanctity of the ballot. Haba! APC!!! What manner of contradiction is this?
“As if that is not enough, the same APC has now spread the dragnet of its allegation hallucinations to include ‘willing students of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro’, as co-conspirators in its wild and naive conspiracy theory of an ‘evil plan’ by PDP members in Isoko South and neighbouring Local Government Areas to Isoko, for their permanent voter’s cards.
“It is amazing that the APC has continued to spin this monotonous, unfounded, unending narrative of allegations and conspiracy theories, from one election cycle to another and this time around they have even dragged the students of Ozoro Polytechnic into their dark and wicked intention to tarnish and badmouth anybody or institution to justify their perennial failures, when in fact they have done little or nothing to convince anyone of their preparedness for any election.
“There’s an adage that says that those who fail to prepare should be prepared to fail and that is exactly the pathetic condition of APC in Delta State. It is little wonder therefore that rather than campaigning to sell their programmes to the people, they instead rush to the media on the eve of every election, with their cooked up, ready-made excuses of allegations and accusations, and this time around, they have shamelessly dragged the innocent students of Ozoro Polytechnic into their warped fabrication of electoral conspiracy.
“The PDP however has embraced the Isoko North bye-election, despite the fact that it is a one-off election, with the same zeal, energy, and vigour that has hallmarked our preparations for all elections in the past and to establish our unwavering preparedness for this very important election, our leader, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa (Ekwueme) himself, spearheaded our Ward to Ward campaigns and the very colourful and robust grand finale ahead of the bye-election for Isoko North Constituency seat, to show the love PDP has for the people of Isoko North and to reassure them that the PDP is their party.
“And to put the icing on the cake, Governor Okowa assured the people that the new University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, created from the State Polytechnic in the community and recently approved by the Federal Government, was ready for take-off in 2021/2022 academic session with current facilities at the institution, which will, of course, be upgraded to a status befitting a University.
“This is the same Ozoro Polytechnic that APC has accused its students of electoral conspiracy, which is a clear indication that while the PDP has made great efforts to uplift the institution and confer on Ozoro, the prestigious title of a University community, the APC is instead running down the image of the institution and its students and de-marketing Ozoro community in the eyes of the world. Deltans and Nigerians should therefore not be surprised when Isoko North votes overwhelmingly for PDP because they know who has their interest and welfare at heart.
“There’s no doubt whatsoever that the PDP is poised to win the Isoko North bye-election and retain its seat in the Delta State House of Assembly. The people already know who to vote for.
