I Am Determined To Drive ljaw Nation To An Enviable Height, Says Owotorufa

As ljaw National Congress(INC) prepares for election to choose a President for this enviable position, Barr. Fredrick Endorokeme Owotorufa, has indicated his interest for the position with the promise to move the Ijaw nation to enable height.
Barr Owotorufa made his intentions known today (Friday) at a forum of Ijaw sons and daughters from home and abroad which was held at Hotel the Peddy, Airport Road, Warri.in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State
He said he has deep understanding of Ijaw question and aspiration of the people for a life of abundance and dignity.
According to him, when he is voted for (as they repose their confidence on him), he promised to work with all sons and daughters of ljaw nation globally and collaborate with every of her friends and foster new relationships to deliver on the dream of a greater and a united Ijaw nation.

He said he was called to bar 31 years ago just as he said he was a senior Police Officer before his resignation and worked in different companies among which was Texaco Overseas as Director before leaving 2010 and went to NNPC among others.
He said: “When l am successful as you repose your trust in me, l promise to work with all sons and daughters of Ijaw nation globally and collaborate with every of her friends and also foster new relationships to deliver on the dream of a united ljaw nation.”
He said INC has derailed in its vision and mission in the past and must realign and see that the ljaw nation must achieve its goals and objectives.
He said he is ready to see that more local governments are created in ljaw land.
Owotorufa said: “Only Kano State has 44 Local governments areas so l don’t see why Burutu Local Government Area should not be three local government areas.”
Barr Owotorufa said he has fought so much for ijaw nation in several ways to move Ijaw nation to the next level.
He also promised to work with all executive of the body and strategise to see that good policies and programmes are made to better the lives of the people.
He said he has contributed immensely to the growth of Ijaw nation in the past.
According to him, among the areas he has made contributions to the Niger Delta, Delta State in general and Ijaw nation in particular Include when he jointly fought for the up review of the minimum 13% to less than 50% and immediate commencement of the trans-coastal highways from Ondo state to Cross Rivers State.
On his part, Benedict Ekpeseri said Barr Fredrick Endorokeme is a man who can reposition the body and move the ljaw nation forward, adding that when the election was getting near, his mind has always been on Fredrick Endorokeme just as he thanked God that he (Fredrick Endorokeme) has shown interest and therefore urged all persons to support him to enable him succeed in this position to enable him do well in this regard.
On her part, Barr Tons Fetegin said she was ready to serve as the legal adviser to the body.
She promised to be proactive as legal adviser if given the opportunity, she would move ljaw naton forward.
She said: “Ijaw people have been down trodden and must be removed from this shackle if ljaw must move forward.”
She said she was ready to work with the President to be an executive that will move the Ijaw nation forward.
She said: “If you vote for me and join the executive, l would bring my wealth of experience as legal practitioner over the years to bear.”
Comrade ibiakpo J. Barle contesting for the position of National Publicity Secretary said ljaw nation must be heard properly.
According to him, he has been on ljaw struggle and has come to serve the people.
As a journalist, he has worked many years and would not let the people down if given the mandate in this regard.
He urged the people not vote for non professionals but for people like them to position people on high pedestals.
The highlight of the forum was unanimous support of the people to all aspiring executive members lNC amidst cheers.
