Tributes As Chief Vero Ofuafo Uvieghara Is Laid To Rest

It was the convergence of the who is who in Delta Central, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Jesse, Idjerhe Kingdom as members of the People’s Democratic Party graced the burial ceremony of late Chief Mrs Vero Ofuafo Uvieghara, Women Leader of the Party Ethiope West LGA.

The remains of the Politician was laid to rest today Friday April 9th, 2021 at Udughe quarters in Idjerhe Kingdom, Jesse, Ethiope West local government area of Delta State.

Late Chief Mrs Vero Ofuafo Uvieghara whose final journey began with a motorcade procession from Obule Memorial Hospital to the Methodist Church located at number 26 Yoruba road, Sapele, Delta State, where a funeral service was held for her.

At the burial ceremony to pay their last respect were members of her immediate family, friends and well wisher.

Earlier at the church service, the officiating minister Rt. Rev. Dr. Rufus O. Babalola, JP who spoke during the funeral service said that death was inevitable for all human and Jesus was the only gate way to life. He enjoin all to give their lives to Christ to enable them make heaven as no one knows the exact time that death would knock on their door.

In his tribute to the Uvieghara family His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa described the deceased as a committed member that was instrumented to the development of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State, especially in Delta Central Senatorial District where she was the Party’s woman leader for several years before serving as a Special Assistant on Women Development.

Similarly, Chief London Owhofasa, former Assistant Publicity Secretariat and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, who spoke to newsmen describe the late Chief Mrs Vero Ofuafo Uvieghara as a dependable ally, loyal and dedicated party member whose contribution to the growth and development of the party was immense, adding that the late Chief Mrs Vero Ofuafo Uvieghara spent her time on earth serving humanity.

Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo, Esq., Commissioner for Urban Renewal in his condolence message said that death was inevitable as no one can escape it’s clutches. He prayed that the good Lord grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

At the burial to pay their final respect were members of the family which include Stanley Realone Uvieghara, David Ufuoma Uvieghara, Ogaga Albert Uvieghara, Enoh Taiye Uvieghara, Emeterireh Kehinde Uvieghara, Ese Uvieghara, Rukevwe Victor Dede and others.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, who graced the burial ceremony include Olorogun David Edevbie, Sen. Ighoyota Amori, Chief Barr John Nani, Barr D.O. Emakunu, Hon Chris Onogba, Hon Nelson Oghenedoro Owoso, Mr Festus Pemu, Chief Cyril Ogodo, Hon Solomon Golley, Hon Churchill Ayomanor, Mr Rex Ogbakpa, Mr Mike Eboh, Mr Felix Odivwri and others.

Officiating Minister from the Methodist Church were not left out as they were ably represented by Very Rev. M.A. Femi – Adebanjo, Very Rev. Mba Eke, Very Rev. O.O. Osuntoye, Ven. Clement E. Oburoh, Very Rev. Michael Bisi Taiwo, Very Rev. Nathaniel Ogundayo, Ven. Otemu Oyibo amongst other dignatries.

The eldest son Chief Stanley Uvieghara who spoke on behalf of the children thanked everyone who took out their time to the grace the burial ceremony of their late mother, adding that the vacuum that she has left would be impossible to fill, our mother was full of life and so we never expected her to leave us so soon, we cannot question God. Our mother lived an exemplary life and she would be sorely missed by all who knew her well he added.
