Ukwuani Council Inaugurates Sports, Education Committees
The Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State, Hon (Barr) Solomon Possible Ajede today (Thursday) constituted two committees on Education and Sports with a charge to the members to contribute their quota towards delivering on their respective terms of reference.
While inaugurating the groups, the chairman heartily congratulated the members for been chosen to serve the Ukwuani people even as he tasked them to be worthy ambassadors of the LGA by contributing their invaluable quota towards improving sports talents development and education development in Ukwuani LGA.
The members of the Sports Committee are:
Amb. Odili Uche (Chairman), Hon Louis Ojebo, Mr Chidi O. Uwabuofu , Mr James Eberiko, Mr Monday Eke, Mr Sunday Tilije, Mrs Ego Idiagbon and Comr Afam Ogbolu.
Other are; Desmond Ifeaka, Mike Otali , Efia Paul and Mrs Lovelyn Opia.

The Sports Committee according to the council Chairman will be guided by the following terms of reference; that, the committee shall embark on aggressive talent haunt to encourage our youths who are interested in all kinds of sports; that, this committee shall organise all kinds of sporting activities with the aim of discovering hidden talents in our youths and to further nurture already discovered talents, and that, they can embark on any other programs that may be assigned to the committee.
Also, the members of the inaugurated Education Committee are; Fabian Okuzor (Chairman), Osabenyi Friday Ebinum, Emikpe Anthony Chibueze , Ossai Onyeka, Aghanenu Uche Abel and Ndumdi Orji Emmanuel.
Others are: Victor Ndidi, Ovili Ishioma, Akpotowho Christopher, Uzoka Kizito Amaechi and Solomon Adibi.
The Education Committee will discharge their duties in line with these terms of reference; they are to encourage Ukwuani sons/daughters and genuine partners who are interested in investing in education to do so; they shall organise debate and quiz competitions in primary and secondary schools in Ukwuani LGA; they are to also, be in charge of handling/organising and supervision of educational programmes for students in the LGA.
The Education Committee will also, strive to reinstate quality education inspection in private and public schools within the LGA and, the committee is at leverage to come up with viable programs to support education in the LG but subject to the approval of the chairman; and to embark on any other programs that may be assigned to them.
While accepting the nomination and subsequent inauguration the members of the committee, Mr Osabenyi Friday Ebinum on behalf of both committees thanked the Chairman and the council for finding them worthy to serve the people of Ukwuani with him even as he assured the chairman they will deliver on their respective terms of reference.
