Again, Suspected IPOB Members Set Ablaze Police Station In Abia, kill 2, 6 Others Missing

Suspected Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) who are members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) on Monday attacked the Apumiri Ubakala Police Station in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia state, killing two officers.

It was reported that the hoodlums attacked the station around 2 am on Monday.

The hoodlums reportedly razed the station and operational vehicles parked in the vicinity and carted away their ammunition.

According to Sahara Reporters, all the suspects under detention in the station were said to have been freed by the hoodlums.

“There was an attack on the Apumiri Police Station in Ubakala Umuahia South LGA, Abia State by unknown gunmen in the early hours of today.

“Two policemen were shot dead and the attackers made away with their remains, cell inmates were freed and six police officers have been declared missing,” a police source told the medium.

There have been repeated attacks on facilities belonging to security agencies in the South East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country over the past weeks thereby compounding the security challenges in the regions.
